During the last few weeks the Virtual Library (Web Resources) has undergone
big changes. First of all we have removed all commercial items to give more
audience to the non-commercial sites. Then we integrated Events and News
Elsewhere. That makes it very convenient to browse and search from one
location. Also, the Library now offers many more functions and cross-links;
however, we will continue adding more features. You may try it out right now.

Emerging Trends in Non-Destructive Testing This Frost & Sullivan study examines basic NDT methods and also provides a synopsis of the emerging techniques, an identification of commercial applications and a report on technology drivers, restraints and challenges.
Official Opening of The NDT Validation Centre A new national research centre located in Port Talbot, Wales, is to set to play a critical role in ensuring the future safety of materials and components used in virtually all areas of engineering - from aeroplanes to pacemakers.
The question of processing of Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) signals is of prime importance, it allows to assess material integrity and quantify detected flaws with reliability. The scope of this Fifth International Workshop will be particularly focused on the cross-fertilization of the fields of NDE and signal processing with participation of international specialists from both fields. Additionally, the Workshop will be an opportunity to perform a reflection on recent developments and also analyze new emerging techniques which are seen promising.
Oyster Creek Liner a Near Catastrophe
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission named Oyster Creek, in Lacey Township, as one of four nuclear reactors in the country with corrosion problems that need to be examined through ultrasonic testing. Oyster Creek has not undergone ultrasonic testing since 1994. The tests use sound waves to determine the thickness of the containment liner.
Tabletop Fusion for Neutron and X-ray Radiography
The device uses two pyroelectric crystals and a deuterium gas to generate neutrons, and is capable of generating up to 200,000 eV X-Rays. Reported by NTIACNews mailing list.
