Experiences with a New Ultrasonic Probe and Ultrasonic Equipmentfor Stud inspection

deutsch
The signal to noise ratio or better the ratio of the signal amplitude reflected at a3 mm deep notch between the spiral ridges and the signal from the thread itselfat closure head studs was less than required and therefore should be improved. One boundary condition was that the inspection should be carried out at thescrewed studs. in the pHst this wss routinely done with ultrasonic immersiontechnique probes. The experiments with these probes showed us, that the angleof incidience, the frequency and the bandwidth of the ultrasonic probes for theshaft and thread inspection should be optimized respectively. The developedprobe system was used for the application on site. The results received in thelaboratory as well as in a nuclear power plant will be presented.
