RESUME
Lors du contrôle ultrasons des soudures, le code RCC-M demande de classer les indications
ultrasonores en volumique ou non volumique. Cette caractérisation fait essentiellement
appel au critère de réflectivité directionnelle qui, appliqué seul, peut conduire à 50 %
d'erreur. L'AFCEN a donc réalisé une étude afin de vérifier si la procédure dite cascade de
l'IS-US-319-21 permettait d'améliorer cette caractérisation en termes de performance.
ABSTRACT
For ultrasonic examination of welds, RCC-M code requires to classify ultrasonic indications
as volumetric or non-volumetric. This characterization is essentially based on directional
reflectivity. When this criteria is taken in isolation, it can lead to 50% of misinterpretation.
Therefore, AFCEN decided to issue a study in order to check if cascade procedure of IS-US-319-
21 can improve this performance characterization.
