This paper describes Sindbad, a X-ray simulation tool which has been developed in our laboratory. Firstly, we briefly present the general characteristics of the program and explain in more details the model implemented in order to simulate the radiation flux scattered in the examined sample. In a second part, the paper discusses an application of X-ray simulation to the design of a dual-energy computed tomography facility.
