Abstract
It is necessary to quantify the detection reliability for the eddy current inspection on aeroengine turbine disks. This reliability can be characterized by the POD-vs.-crack-size function. Different methods to calculate the POD have been compared on a disk that incorporated real low cycle fatigue cracks. The POD calculated with a new method based on the ROC-concept was compared to the a -vs.-a-method. Good agreement was found.
