New technologies applied in the industry, as well as the ever increasing for quality assurance, have made possible to rise the importance of the requirements to ensure the integrity Elf materials

The rigorous codes and safety requirements applied to the Nuclear industry have been responsibles for the development of inspection techniques and systems that today implies an important resource to assure and cheapen the quality controls of other industrial processes.

Tecnatom, backed up by this knowhow in the Nuclear industry, can offer expert assessment and inspection services for other industrial sectors.

Tecnatom has recently developed the following applications of automated ultrasonic inspection systems for industrial processes:

detection and automated analysis on the content of large inclusions or clusters of small inclusions for determining the suitability of a steel lot for bearing applications (steel industry). The Figure 1 shows the result of a block inspected.

inspection to ensure the integrity of the shock absorber shaft (automobile industry). The Figure 2 shows the geometry of the shock absorber shaft.
