Abstract

In order to build up a strong and effective infrastructure of local NDT practitioners at international standard under human resource development programme, to harmonise the national NDT training and certification scheme with the regional scheme and to attain selfreliance in the field of NDT technology, a NDT training programme has been taken up. National certifying body in the name of NDT Personnel Certification Committee has been constituted with the representatives from different organizations with the approval of the Government of Bangladesh, formal and effective NDT training programme was initiated in 1986 under the auspieces of the UNDP/IAEA/RCA Industrial Project in which Bangladesh is an active member and since then this programme is continuing. The present paper describes the training course carried out, course syllabi and standard followed, certification scheme, trained manpower available and the future planning of the NDT activities.
