Abstract
This paper describes the operation of a novel instrument which uses audible sound waves to inspect tubes and pipes. This non-intrusive method of inspection is capable of detecting holes, blockages or foreign bodies in upto 500 metres of pipe in one pass. The system provides information on the type of defect (hole or blockage), size and distance from the transmitter in seconds.
