Full-Text - AbstractAlloys can be characterized by their chemical composition, based either on relatively detailed analysis or a less detailed identification. PMI - Positive Materials Identification is more and more frequently used to avoid mismatch in plants where wrong material would be crucial.
For the last decades, we have gained experience in materials characterization by NDM in e g power plants, fossil as well as nuclear, petrochemical plants. Furthermore, the NDM has been a useful tool in failure analysis and tests after e.g. fires or other incidents leading to overheating.
