Abstract

Most refinery, chemical and power plants have many inspection programs to maintain mechanical integrity of plant equipment, such as corrosion monitoring, visual inspections and valve testing programs. Due to the tremendous volumes of engineering and inspection data and the significant benefits of comprehensive data analysis, most of these programs are ideal for computerization.

Krautkramer's UltraPIPE Program for Plant Inspection of Piping and Equipment is designed to computerize most of these inspection applications. The inspection applications are all supported by 1) useful reporting (including color graphic reports); 3) modules for retirement thickness calculations; 4) evaluation of localized corrosion; 5) data recording capabilities; 6) interfaces to CAD equipment drawings; and 7) computerization of inspection narratives and recommendations. These features are all accessed using the main window task bar shown below.
