Residual Stress Measurements - The Danfoss Scenario.

Abstract
During the past two decades the central laboratories of Danfoss, Denmarks largest manufacturing company, have conducted the measurement of residual stress in metallic surfaces using X-ray diffraction techniques. Several examples selected from the experience gained when solving tasks ranging from routine measurements to intricate problems are presented. The advantages and limitations of the techniques involved are discussed from an industrial laboratory's point of view.
