Abstract

The magnetic testing of physical and mechanical properties of thermal processed products is based on high sensitivity of magnetic properties of steels to changes in their structural and phase composition . Usually during testing only one of the characteristics of hysteresis limiting loop of a product material is under measuring. However the modern devices [1] for providing with the high efficiency of testing use contactless magnetization of product in open magnetic circuit . In this case the material of products does not reach saturation during magnetization, and magnetic parameters under measuring are not parameters of hysteresis limiting loop .

In the study on the basis of approximation of magnitization change of material on specific cycles of hysteresis loop the theoretical analysis of influence of materials product sizes and properties on sensitivity of their parametres measured during magnetization in open magnetic circuit of products parameters with structuresensible parameter of materials and interfering factor is carried out. It was shown that connected with unsufficient magnetization of products decreasing of sensitivity of measured parameters to tested properties of products in open magnetic circuit and growing influence of inconstancy in sizes of products and intensity of magnetizing field result to additional physical limitations on opportunities of this method. Recommendations for choosing magnetic parameters and regions of application of magnetization in open magnetic circuit during the testing of physical and mechanical properties by a magnetic method are given.
