The ISI programs are an organic part of the Nuclear Safety System. The Mechanized Ultrasonic Inspections (MUT) are a special, each year increasing part of the ISI. The MUT Systems are used at the NPP Paks since 1987. During the first period we used such systems for the RPV inside and outside Inspection. In the second period (beginning at 1993) we changed both systems. In these period, after that during the manually inspection we found corrosion cracks near one of the threaded holes in the SG primary collector flange area, we begin the MUT Inspection of the SG primary collectors too.
Until and of the 1997 practically each RPV three times completely was inspected from inside and outside too. Using the results of these inspections, it is possible to make comparison between the different inspections, end to draft a new Inspection Program for the RPV, with a larger period and a sifted inside and outside MUT Inspection.
During the 1995-97 we inspected the primary collector flange area for 23 SG. These inspection practice help as to change the manipulator. Changing the manipulator it is possible to make the inspection in a shorter time, and reach a higher quality.
