Abstract
The developed thermophysical method and automatic measurement system for express nondestructive gas pressure inspection inside power reactor fuel rods in the process of their large-scale production at a plant are described. The method of gas parameter measurement based on examination of thermal convection that aroused in gas volume of rod plenum by technical instruments. The original approach of data processing is applied. In essence the data processing procedure consists in deriving of the graduated relationships of searched for the rod under study parameters as a function of its some (little number, in particular - one) generalized features. The generalized features are obtained from the a priori set of all rod measuring features by the special kind functional nonlinear optimization procedure application. The graduated relationships and generalized features are calculated with the help of training set application. The developed technique have been realised for determination of helium pressure inside VVER and PWR fuel rods with high accuracy in manufacturing line conditions. The method and system can be applied for quality inspection of any kind power reactor fuel rods, having gas plenum.
