The Inspection Department of the Exploration and Production Division is responsible for planning, performance and documentation of in-service inspection of static equipment, structures and pipelines on installations operated by Norsk Hydro.

Maintaining an acceptable low risk level related to personnel, environment, production and equipment, inspection is important. Inspection is based on requirements stipulated by the Authority and Norsk Hydro.

The lecture will present some abstracts based on the inspection of offshore installations:

• Planning of inspection programmer
• Tradtional ultrasonic and radiographic testing developed for special applications.
• Inspection at areas with difficult access.
  • Subsea inspection.
  • Inspection of mooring lines.
  • Inspection of concrete structures.
  • Inspection of flareboom structures.
• Vibration/ stress measurements and fatigue evaluations.
