Abstract
Robit a.s. have developed a system for remotely operated Eddy Current (EC) weld inspection for sub/sea applications. The system is placed by a ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) and operated via the ROV umbilical. To completely replace the diver, the system can be equipped with a tool change unit holding both the EC- and a grinding-tool to remove defects. The results from the inspection is used as input for position and trajectory for the defect. Based on this, the grinding-tool can remove the defect. Verification on removal is done by using the EC-tool again.
