The presentation will also explain important things which are necessary for the qualification to meet predestined requirements.
It is important that all involved parts, utilities, qualification body and inspection companies understand that planning of time and resources before the realise of the qualification. All involved parts shall also be agreed and work to reach the aim of the intended qualification. The presentation will give an example of how a planning for the different activities can look like.
More important and basic part is the test specimens and the defect simulations. Defect simulations will affect the result of qualification different depending of what NDT technique will be qualified. The implant of heat cracks is visible when using X-ray, Time-of-flight diffraction technique and eddy-current technique. That is a main problem and more research are necessary to get a solution.
Feed back to the inspection companies out from the qualification results are very important, specially when the procedure or the personnel have failed and therefore should the certificate describe as much as possible without disclosing the contents of the blind specimen.
