
By subtracting to this thickness map the theoretical thicknesses values given by a CAD model, we obtain a map representative of the defect's thickness. Figure 3 shows such a map for the circular weld area : the defects appears clearly on this image.
In the communication we will evaluate the increase of detection sensitivity and robustness obtained by detecting the defect on the thickness defect image in comparison to a detection limited to an analysis of the raw radiographs.
