The basic condition of the Standard application - the availability of stable paired probabilistic or the multiple probabilistic relations between then controlled quality indexes and magnetic characteristics of steel. All the probabilistic estimates, used in the Standard, are applied at confidence level not less than 0,95.
GOST 30415 stipulates general requirements to the means of control and procedure of its performance and sets formulae for calculation of inspected numbers while applying magnetic inspection. The procedure of random inspection is predetermined to check the authenticity of the correlated relation usage and regulations are introduced to enter data file of non-destructive and parallel tests.
Not to overload the Standard, three supplements are predetermined for it.
The supplement A ( compulsory ) with the list of statistics is due to compulsory determination by non-destructive magnetic method of mechanical properties test.
The Supplement B ( reference) contains a description of the process to render an automatic construction of mathematical models.
The Supplement C ( reference) is especially valuable: it contains procedure to restore the regression dependencies with reference to empirical data.
At the initial stages of the non-destructive test development the engineers of procedure development were endeavoured to take samples for parallel tests in such a way that a centre of rupture test specimen should coincided with a centre of magnetization zone by magnetic tests. As the means are appeared for magnetic inspection of moving items, attempts to apply previous principles led to insurmountable technical difficulties. The procedure submitted in Supplement C provides the possibility to overcome easily these problems, and its importance, for the purpose to spare time and means of enterprises applying the non-destructive inspection, can scarcely be exaggerated.
