Abstract

Instrument with a set of sensors for cracks control in the rotor ditches, as well as blades, disks and other elements of the turbines and compressors under scale and dross layer or hardening bead of up to 5 mm thick. Reliable detecting of cracks of more than 3 mm long and more than 0.3-0.5 mm deep under scale layer of up to 0.8-1.0 mm. High sensitivity to defects and corrosive in non-magnetic metals through variable power frequency from 0.5 to 60 kHz and original sensor design.

Complete sensors set includes 3 types-flat working butt-end sensors 30x12 mm and 20x8 mm, pencil-type sensors ø 2 - 5 mm and special sensors for heat ditches monitoring. Working butt-ends of the sensors are covered with wear-protective metallic plate. Methods have been developed for the monitoring of turbine blades (in edge and hole areas, under protective plates, with heavy erasure of the blades surface), heat ditches, axis channel and other crucial elements.

The device and methods have been certified by the State Standards of Russia. They are used at the heat and atomic power station.
