Using special tools for post-processing the threedimensional. datasets a conversion into CAD format is possible. Special attention has to be applied in order to avoid artefacts caused by X-ray scattering and beamhardening effects. After this process a full set of engineering data essential for computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering (CAD, CAM and CAE) is presented to the user.
CT is the only way for measuring exterior and interior part coordinates nondestructively without the need of special positioning or calibrating circumstances. Different methods for 3D-reconstruction, -visualization and -measurement of CT data are presented in combination with typical samples.
