Abstract

This paper at first briefly describes the present state of European standards projects elaborated by working group 2 of 138 technical comitee (EN TC 138 - WG2) and concerning the verification of ultrasonic equipment used in non destructive testing. The paper higligthts the consequences of this standard projects when it is adopted (forseen in 1998) on the verification of ultrasonic flaw detectors which periodicity will be at least once e year.

Finally, is given an example of application of standard project, through the description of a prototype of partly automated system developped by CETIM and enabling verifications in conformity with European standards.

This paper is illustred by an example of performing verification of one of the characteristic parameters of a flaw detector.
