A portable test system for manual ultrasonic testing with on-line
The significance of the lecture
Using mechanics-free monitoring of probe location and beaming direction (airborne ultrasound) with simultaneous monitoring of acoustic coupling, by evaluating low frequency noise passed through the object, a true-to-scale presentation of the inspected region is recorded and displayed with all the relevant indications, including the documentation of the active probe trace.
The classical manual ultrasonic test is decisively supplemente: presentation of the entire probe movement as proof that complete test object scanning has been made. The lecture describes the technology applied, its advantages compared with conventional ultrasonic testing and describes the opportunities of using the system as a replacement for radiography testing.
