
Research Activities of Relevance to the 7th ECNDT Conference.
Specific research activities, which have received the support of the Programmes of the European Commission, will be presented, with focus on the projects and networking activities of special relevance for this conference.
This part of the presentation will be based on the established networking activities of the Research Programmes. A number of individual research activities, both in the form of industrial research projects funded under the EC initiatives as well as National and private work, are being grouped under various networking activities, many of which now with the support of the EC Research Programmes. The latest initiative is the "Plant Life Assessment Network' (PLAN), grouping together most EC funded projects in the area, plus a number of other related networks. The network structure of PLAN (1) will be presented, including its four clusters with special focus on the "Inspection" cluster, the participating projects and other specific networks, and the planned networking activities.
Information Sources.
Various sources of information exists, allowing access to more detailed information about the EC Framework and Research Programmes, and its projects and networks. The main source of information has become the Internet with the main entrance being the CORDIS homepages (2). A brief introduction will be given to allow access to more in-depth information about the presented topics.
