Reliability and reproducibility of measurement results is the main task in NDT implementation. The law of the Republic of Belarus "Assurance of Measurement Traceability" specifies mandatory state surveillance after relevant realisation of measurements in diagnostics of technical state of critical safety objects and vehicles following approved procedures.
GOST 8.010-90 "State System of Measurements. Procedures of Measurements Implementation" being in force in Belarus, specifies general requirements to the drawing up of measurement procedures and order of their approval. This standard specifies also that standard procedures with certified characteristics of error which is adjusted for possible use of any example representative of measuring devices have status of state standard or guidelines of the Republic of Belarus. These procedures have to be approved and registered in Gosstandart of Belarus.
Individual procedures error of which is evaluated taking into account individual properties of definite measurement instrument may have the range of the standard of industrial branch or the firm standard. In this case reliability of procedures must be confirmed by their metrological attestation that has to be realised by relevant authorised body.Such an approach didn't find yet wide use in NDT because specific character of NDT and features of objects to be tested must be taken into account.
At present questions of metrological attestation of procedures for measurement implementation in NDT and drawing up of special normative documents for these purposes are on the stage of investigation in Belarus.
