| EPRI 2000 Session: Performance Demonstration | ![]() |
With the assistance of EPRI, the pilot project will take three 'inspections' through to the point of qualification. These 'inspections' are ferritic piping welds; fuel channel bearing pad frets and steam generator tube (Inconel 600) circumferential cracking. Of these, ferritic piping is the lead element and is being used as a model for the other two.
The project commenced in October, 1999 and has developed to the point of completed inspection specifications and technical justifications for the ferritic piping weld inspections. The fuel channel and steam generator elements are following with a delay of approximately six months.
The pilot project is due to be completed by December, 2000 at which time a decision will be made to apply the project across the board.
