| EPRI 2000 Session: Major Component Inspection | ![]() |
The shape of Baffle Former Bolt in Japan is divided into the following two types and we ordinary carry out two kinds of UT techniques, straight beam technique and angle beam technique respectively to confirm integrity of bolts.
Making use of both straight beam technique and angle beam technique, it is possible to detect not only 3 mm depth SCC at shank root portion but also flaw with angularity.
In recent years, there are increasing demands for top-seed inspection that will be able to shorten inspection period of Baffle Former Bolt.
Therefore, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) successfully developed top-seed rotating UT probe without declining detectavility.
