The IVC now provides an international service for inspection qualification and has been involved in many such qualifications carried out to the ENIQ system. This has involved acting on behalf of utilities to establish national qualification systems and to implement them. The IVC has also supported regulators in assessing qualification systems developed by utilities and in carrying out qualification of their inspections.

This paper will review IVC's experience with the ENIQ approach to qualification in countries including the UK, Sweden, Finland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia and South Africa. The lessons which have been learned will be presented including both the benefits and problems and ways in which further improvements can be made will be identified.
