ABSTRACT
Creep damage and post welding heat treatment temperature were evaluated by AC magnetic hysteresis measurement on Cr-Mo steel and welding metal. It was shown that parameters measured by magnetic method such as coercivity, remanence and hysteresis loss were sensitive to the creep damage. And also the harmonic analysis method of the detected voltage was effective to evaluate the micro structure change of carbon steel. A small probe was used in this investigation to magnetize the ferromagnetic materials around Rayleigh loop region. PWHT temperatures and creep damage could be evaluated using normalized magnetic parameters without surface treatment.
