| EPRI 2000 Session: Performance Demonstration | ![]() |
With this trend, many countries have initiated their own performance demonstration schemes based on their unique needs. Generally speaking these schemes are developed using similar principles to those applied by the PDI (Performance Demonstration Initiative) in the United States or the ENIQ (European Network for Inspection Qualification). Without exception, the requirements within the qualification programs, especially in the area of developing Technical Specifications and Technical Justifications have stretched existing resources and resulted in challenging technical and economic issues.
Utilities are now dealing with these issues. EPRI has provided technical assistance to organizations in many countries to deal with the issues resulting from the NDE qualification. EPRI's observations from these activities will be discussed and challenges for the future will be presented.
