NPP Leibstadt and the Swiss Nuclear safety Authority (HSK) agreed to use this project as a pilot study for the implementation of the European qualification methodology in Swiss nuclear power plants. An ad-hoc qualification body was established that consists of NDT experts from NPP Leibstadt, SVTI and HSK and is assisted by an EPRI/PDI expert. The paper will outline, from the point of view of the qualification body, the approach used, the experience made, the lesson learned, and results archived.
