This approach makes extensive use of technical justifications both to provide evidence of inspection capability and to identify the inspection cases which most require qualification. In general this process has lead to a reduction in the number of required qualifications whilst retaining rigorous demonstration of key features of the plant inspection. This paper describes the development of the technical justifications which underpin the qualification programme.
