ABSTRACT
In-service inspection qualification programme in Czech Republic is focused on qualification of UT inspection procedures and equipment for VVER 440-213 and VVER 1000 type components. Except for three full scale test assemblies with implanted PISC type A defects manufactured in 1997 (included in the Phare project 4. 1. 2/93) appropriate technical justifications in compliance with ENIQ methodology have been discussed and elaborated for VVER 440 and VVER 1000 reactor pressure vessel inspection areas representing inner nozzle radii, safe-end dissimilar weld and VVER 1000 nozzle homogenous weld. For the other primary piping inspection areas five full scale predominantly austenitic test assemblies have been fabricated in Phare project 1. 02/94 (two T-pieces 245/500 mm, 108/500 mm with welds, steam generator shell to collector dissimilar weld, transition nozzle to main circulation pump elbow and primary circulation pipe to transition nozzle weld). All for them have been manufactured with implanted PISC type A and lack of fusion defects and mechanical fatigue cracks. Detailed experience from practical trial simulation performed in 1998 is briefly presented. Special emphasis is devoted to VVER 440 SG collector threaded holes. Within the Phare project 1. 02/95 concentrated on this inspection area RRT and ISI qualification trials will be started in 1998-1999. The Czech specific aspects of ISI qualification programme focused on technical justification and practical trials which continues within national projects and the above mentioned PHARE projects are highlighted.
