ABSTRACT
The manipulator development described formed part of a larger, urgent inspection development programme following the discovery of a steam leak in a 300mm-diameter austenitic reheated outlet pipe at Hunterston B Nuclear Power Station. The first inspection device was commissioned within 7 weeks of the discovery of the leak and a further 3 devices were supplied within a further 8 weeks. All the systems were successfully deployed during an intensive inspection programme of the remaining 23 welds at Hunterston B
