Measurement of Pore Volume and Flow through Porous Materials. A Non-Mercury Novel Technique
Measurement of Pore Volume and Flow through Potous Materials - A Non-Mercury Novel Technique
A. Jena, K. Gupta
ABSTRACT A novel technique Capillary Saturation Porometry has been developed to measure pore volume and pore volume distribution without using mercury or other toxic materials. Additionally, the new technique can measure liquid flow rate, which mercury porosimetry cannot. The pressures required are also significantly smaller than those required by porosimetry. The technique has been presented and its applications have been illustrated with experimental data.
