ABSTRACT In the meantime mechatronics is a well introduced concept for the close connection of mechanics, electronics and computer science. This connection has got indispensable in the high tech mechanical engineering. The spring technology profits from the mechatronics both in the spring production and in the spring application. The computer is dominating in the spring design, the spring production is computer-controlled and the spring measuring technique uses powerful electronics. The lecture represents general development trends in the mechatronics and their application in the mechanical engineering. The connection of mechatronics and spring technology and tasks and solutions being deduced from this are emphasized. This is explained with the help of examples from the spring production, spring check and spring application.
