Selecting the Optimum Joining Technology. Assessment and Evaluation of Relevant Criteria

ABSTRACT This paper gives an overview, as to how the optimum joining technology with special emphasis on the automotive body-in-white, should be selected. After a brief introduction, the state-of-the-art is described and exemplary approaches and solutions together with the relevant selection criteria highlighted. Finally, some future trends are prognosticated.
