Set Up for Multiaxial Fatigue Testing of Tubular Specimens - Investigation of the Fatigue Behaviour at Multiaxial Non-Proportional Loading.
Matthias Weick und Jarir Aktaa, Karlsruhe
ABSTRACT Up to the present, the bahaviour of complex loaded components can only unsufficiently be characterized by uniaxial determined parameters. In particular with respect to fatigue, multiaxial loading causes a quite different material behaviour. In order to achieve a better understanding of the fatigue behaviour at multiaxial loading multiaxial fatigue tests have increasingly been carried out during the recent years. The tension-torsion test machines with multiaxial loading by axial tension/compression and by a torsion moment around the longitudinal axis which have been used for such tests cause a rotating, i. e. non time constant, system of the main axes. At the test set up introduced in this contribution the the main axes system keeps time invariant.
