Progress of EPERC - Task Force on Inspection Harmonisation

ABSTRACT
The aims of EPERC - The European Pressure Equipment Research Council-are to promote European co-operative research and development linked to problems of design, construction and in-service activities. EPERC is concerned with all types of non-nuclear pressure equipment (main industrial sectors are energy, chemical, petroleum and transport). The network includes industry, research organisations, inspection bodies and governmental institutions. Specifically, a Technical Task Force on Harmonisation of Inspection and Maintenance (TTF 3) has been set up. TTF 3 deals with issues like, Inspection Qualification, surveys on the NDE inspections and NDE codes and standards for manufacturing inspection, Risk Based Inspection and Maintenance Procedures, TOFD and NDE Reliability. This paper reports on progress to date and future plans of TTF 3.
