ABSTRACT
Progress is reported on the implementation of an inspection qualification strategy developed for two Swedish BWR units. The strategy complies with the ENIQ methodology. The aim of the strategy was rigorous, cost effective qualification of all the inspection techniques and systems to be used on the BWR units. The strategy, which represents a significant evolution of inspection qualification, was proposed in 1997 and has been continuously implemented since then. A précis of the strategy is given along with a discussion of the influence of its use on issues such as inspection procurement, the requirement for experimental trials and progress in these trials.
