ABSTRACT
This paper describes progress made in qualifying Steam Generator Tubing Inspections for Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant in Bulgaria. The Qualification has been based on the IAEA Methodology for Inspection Qualification and the ENIQ Recommended Practices. The importance of setting up a practical structure for qualification in Bulgaria will be stressed. The deep involvement of the Nuclear Utility, Nuclear Regulator, Qualification Body and inspection company at all stages of the qualification process will be discussed as essential for success. The process of qualification will be described together with the key role of the development of a Technical Specification for the inspection and its qualification. The production of the Technical Justification and its content will be described. Finally, lessons learned and recommendations will be made to aid others involved in qualification and to share experience in this new way of demonstrating inspection performance.
