Eddy Current Performance Determination in the Presence of Extraneous Variables

ABSTRACT
Structural integrity for nuclear steam generator tubing relies heavily on the probability of detection and sizing uncertainties from non-destructive testing techniques. Typically the probability of detection and sizing uncertainties are assumed from a known data set analyzed by several data analysts. The performance derived from the demonstration only represents the conditions that were present in the data set. If the data in the data set were slightly different would the performance be similar? What type of adjustment is necessary to the performance at various conditions? This presentation will address one methodology for assessing POD and uncertainty values as applied to the eddy current technique for examination of steam generator tubing.
