Leak Before Break Concept Applicability Assessment to VVER-1000 and 440's Main Coolant Piping and Surge Line

ABSTRACT
For a modern Leak Before Break (LBB) Concept Applicability Assessment to WWER-1000, 440's main coolant pipe and surge line (MCP/SL) the complex of methodical and calculate-experimental works was carried out:
The analysis of status: - geometry and material; - strength characteristics and flows; - loads and damaging mechanisms etc.
Development of normative documents for assessment of LBB applicability for WWER-1000,440`s MCP/SL and postulated defects;
Development of the modern requirements to NDI and diagnostic systems;
A calculated-experimental investigation of WWER-1000,440`s MCP/SL integrity;
Development of the recommendations and measures.
