Abstract:
Heterogeneous hybrid devices [or smart engineering applications require a thorough understanding of processing-structure-property relationships. The ac small-signal immittance measurement as a function of frequency at a given set of non-equilibrium conditions is considered as the nondestructive means of electrical characterization. performance improvement, and quality control of these devices. The applied small-signal amplitude should be large enough to modulate the Fermi-level such that the termal immittance consisting of the in-phase and out-of-phase elements is reasonably reproduced. The resulting immitiance function, attributed to the several physical factors within the device, must be identified at least with the depletion layer(s), boundary-bulk region(s), simultaneously and-or sequentially operative multiple defect states, etc. In general the immittance function is a representative of the no-Debye response, and can effectively be utilized in measuring a systematic non-destructive evaluation ma Bode-plane plot, lumped-parameter, complex plane analysis, and ruder spectroscopic analyses, etc. A standard Cut off procedure for this Type of electricaly-based measurement can be devised using the selected dispersion pattern of the frequency-dependent immittance data. Thus, a quick nondestructive assessment can be established, utilizing fewer spot frequency immittance data in a manufacturing environment.
