Abstract:
Thermal shock tests on samples of plasma sprayed yttria partially stabilized zirconia have been performed. The samples were commercially sprayed using tour different sets of operating conditions. Acoustic emission was monitored during the entire thermal shock cycle and a comparison of results from the tour groups mill be made. Microstructure evidence correlating the acoustic emission response to changes in the microstructure will be presented.
