This work shows a methodology using the Compton Scattering Technique of gamma radiation to detect the presence of paraffin, show the position and make an estimation of the obstruction introduced by it inside the pipeline, as the first action for a possible procedure capable of removing it. And also shows the Compton Backscattering Technique applied to detect the superficial defects on objects with tubular shape.
Other technique is X-ray diffraction computed tomography that is based on the interference phenomena. The reconstructed image represents the spatial distribution of the elastic cross section, which is a function of the position within the sample and the energy of the incident beam.
