| Abstract |
| | Ultrasonic attenuation in the fine pearlitic steel used for railway wheels has been measured. Several structural factors that significantly affect ultrasonic wave attenuation in the frequency range 2-10 MHz have been found. These factors are: the grain and its distribution, the grain boundaries, the history of the grain and the content of the ferritic component. 4 ref.-AA |
