CONCLUSIONS:Laser generation and detection of ultrasound can be applied to monitor processes in fluids. In the case of resin solidification the extent of the reaction can be assessed from the ultrasonic pulse arrival times in real time. The system, with minor modifications, can be used to monitor the reaction at several locations inside the sample. Single bubbles can be identified and their location assessed from waveforms. In the case of polydispersed flow the bubble number density can be qualitatively observed.
