Abstract
Starter rings for motors are electrical resistance but welded and defects, which are oriented perpendicular to the surface may occur. This land of defect cannot he defected by using only a single ultrasonic angle probe, hut with a double probe in a tandem technique, which is complicated. In practice we used an adjusted tandem technique in the immersed method For larger rings we used creep waves, which makes it possible to detect oriented defects in non machined ringsIn the paper characteristics of sound fields for different probes and their application are shown.
