Abstract

In Slovenia the Standards and Metrology Institute at the Ministry of Science and Technology provides for national standards. Over 90 technical committees take care for the implementation of slovenian standards. The Technical committee for testing of metallic structural materials hay two working groups: The group for destructive testing and the group for non-destructive testing. The task of the ndt group is to select among international and national standards such as ISO, EN, DIN ASTM, those which are most adequate for adoption.

The ndt working group had five meetings and discussed the priority for adoption of standards, in in the most used ndt methods: RT, UT, PT, MT, VT, LT and proposed and prepared for adoption eleven standards by the cover-sheet or by the declaration method.
Translation of foreign national and international standards into sloven language has not yet been practised A prerequisite for translations in the ndt field is, that standards for the glossary of terms shall he issued. first. Problems with terms in ndt already arose at the translation of standard titles. Therefore, terms area priority item.
